Turning 40

It's my 39th birthday and I'm thinking to myself - 'I think turning 39 is actually worse than turning 40.'

Why? I am going to have 1 yr to dred turning 40. ONE YEAR to remind myself that "next year is the big FOUR-0". When you turn Forty, that's it - one day, done and finished.

I did this when I was turning 30 too - dredding that day but once that day happened, that was it.

What will 50 do to me? Hee hee.

I just want to take really good care of myself and lose that weight and try to look how I feel inside (which is only "almost 40" when my back is hurting or my memory has lapses). :)

For all my friends who are in your 40's - tell me, what do you love about it, what do you hate about it and how much does your age have to do with it? For those in your 30's - what do you worry about when getting another year older? Does age matter?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHER..
to me you only look 20 something..
im in my 30's dreaded turning the big 3 0... but now as each year passes im loving it. not sure why, can't pin point it.. but love it.. maybe theres not as much pressure, no more expectations, i have realised that my life will only happen if i make it happen, not waiting for it to happen like i did in my 20's ??.. anywho.. i love getting older..

and no, i don't think age matters at all, unless of course your in your late 80's or 90's and still feel like a 20 yo.. then i think that could cause some probs

It's not so bad, it's better to age gracefully than to fight it kicking & screaming, and you are doing it gorgeously my dear so I wouldn't worry. Happy Birthday! Loves, Dottie

I'm about to turn 46. When I was in my early 40's, I was miserable...outwardly I appeared to be successful, but inwardly was stressed out of my mind and completely dissatisfied with life.

Then I got dreadfully ill, renewed my relationship with the Lord, and began to play music. I now feel better than I did when I was in my early 20's and can easily say my mid-40's has been the best time of my life. Don't sweat the age thing!

I'd like to tell you that age is just a number and that it doesn't matter however turning 40 was sort of a toughie for me. HOWEVER, I feel more confident, sexy, secure and happy than I have in a long long long time. It also helps that my children are getting older which makes life easier in alot of ways however I truly believe that my 40s are going to be my best decade yet!!!
